WB Transport is a warehouse and logistics distribution company. The new cross-docking facility has (42) dock positions, administrative offices, locker rooms, restrooms, cafeteria ,kitchenette, conference room, and shipping & receiving offices.
The facility features conventional steel construction with precast concrete walls. Parsons provided design/build services for the lighting, power, and fire alarm systems, preparing all construction drawings and providing installation of the electrical systems.
A 1200 amp, 277/480 volt electric service was provided. Power distribution system consists of main distribution panel, (3) lighting panels, (3) receptacle panels, (1) battery charger panel, (6) step-down transformers, fire pump house panel, guard house panel, and mezzanine panel. Parsons designed and installed power to all HVAC equipment, plumbing equipment, dock equipment, and battery chargers.
Lighting systems included LED light fixtures throughout the facility as well as on the exterior. Lighting controls were designed to conform to the latest energy conservation code and include fixture, ceiling, and wall mounted occupancy sensors. Exit and egress lighting to meet the building code requirements was also provided. Parsons provided all lighting system design.
The fire alarm system was designed to meet the requirements of the Kentucky Building Code per NFPA 72. A complete ADA compliant system was provided throughout the facility.
Low voltage systems included access control, CCTV, and paging.
