Vuteq USA, Inc.

Project Description:

Vuteq provides assembly of automotive window frames and glasses, and also manufactures injection-molded interior components.

This project included the addition of new 2000 ton injection molding machine and a new electric service. Parsons provided design/build services, preparing all construction drawings and installation of the electrical systems, as well as coordination with the local utility company.

Parsons scope of work included:

  • 4000 Amp, 277/480 volt electric service from a utility company transformer.
  • 4000 Amp, 277/480 volt main switchboard with advanced metering, and spare breakers for future injection molding machines.
  • 600 amp, 480 volt panel for new 2000 ton injection molding machine. Branch circuits from this panel to main control panel, material dryer, robot, mold temperature controllers, vacuum loader, mold changer, and Pearl Kogyo jigs were also included.
  • 45 KVA step-down transformer for material dryer.
  • 15 KVA step-down transformer for robot.
  • Grounding electrode system for new service.

An engineering study had to be performed to plan adequate power for the new equipment as well as (4) future injection molding machines. Parsons worked closely with Vuteq, their equipment vendors, and the local utility company to carefully coordinate all aspects of the project.
