Vuteq USA, Inc.

Project Description:

Vuteq provides assembly of automotive window frames and glasses, and also manufactures injection-molded interior components.

This project included the addition of a new package tray manufacturing line for the Lexus ES model. Parsons provided design/build services, preparing all construction drawings and installation of the electrical systems.

Parsons scope of work included:

  • 600 amp, 480 volt feeder to oven control panel.
  • 500 amp, 277/480 volt panel for ancillary equipment on production line. Branch circuits from this panel to main control panel, speaker grill press, extol machine, and mold temperature controllers were also included.
  • The 600 amp oven control feeder and 500 amp panel feeder consisted of aluminum MC cables installed in an aluminum cable tray system.
  • Other miscellaneous items included 60 amp, 240 volt branch circuit to glue machine, and (4) double duplex receptacles for general use in the production area.

An engineering study had to be performed to find enough available spare power to accommodate the new equipment. Parsons worked closely with Vuteq, their equipment vendors, and the local utility company to carefully coordinate all aspects of the project.
