Link Belt is a leader in the design, manufacturing, and sales of telescopic and lattice boom cranes. The project consisted of a new prototype & training facility adjacent to their existing facility.
The facility features conventional steel construction with CMU wainscot, metal siding, office, and 55 foot tall high bay. The interior consists of open office areas, private offices, break areas, IT room, engineering test, gauge room, high value tool storage, QA lab, classrooms, restrooms, and electrical room. Parsons provided design/build services for the lighting, power, and fire alarm systems, preparing all construction drawings and providing installation of the electrical systems.
A new 600 amp, 12.47 KV service was provided. Power distribution system consists of an outdoor 15 KV switchgear lineup, and 2000 KVA unit substation. The power distribution system also includes (2) 600 amp plug-in bus ducts, (2) 75 & (1) 45 KVA transformers, and (5) panels. Parsons designed and installed power to all HVAC equipment and (2) bridge cranes.
Lighting systems included LED light fixtures throughout the facility as well as on the exterior. Lighting controls were designed to conform to the latest energy conservation code and include ceiling and wall mounted occupancy sensors. Exit and egress lighting to meet the building code requirements was also provided. Parsons provided all lighting system design.
The fire alarm system is designed to meet the requirements of the Kentucky Building Code per NFPA 72. A voice evacuation system was also included as part of the system.
