The Pepper family brand of whiskey is an iconic Kentucky whisky brand initially produced during the American Revolution and continued through 1967, when the brand and distillery were abandoned. In 2008, the brand was relaunched and in December 2017 began distilling whisky again.
The facility features a barrel storage area, office, restroom, sprinkler room, barrel dump, and forklift room. Parsons provided design/build services for the lighting, power, and fire alarm systems, preparing all construction drawings, and providing installation of the electrical systems.
A 400 amp, 277/480 volt electric service serves the building. The power distribution system consists of a receptacle panel, step-down transformer, and fire pump house panel. Power to fire pump, overhead doors, battery charger, HVAC equipment, plumbing equipment, general use convenience receptacles, and process equipment was also included.
Lighting consists of LED strip lights and LED high bay fixtures throughout the facility. Lighting controls were designed to conform to the latest energy conservation code. Exterior lighting consists of wall mounted LED fixtures. Exit and egress lighting to meet the building code requirements was also provided. Parsons provided all lighting system design.
Low voltage systems include fire alarm, access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, and lightning protection.
