Project Description:

FedEx Ground is a ground package delivery service which delivers daily to all 50 US states.

The facility consists of a distribution area with 54 loading docks as well as a 14,000 sf office. Parsons provided design/build services for the lighting, power, and fire alarm systems, preparing all construction drawings, and providing installation of the electrical systems. Extensive site lighting was provided for secure entry gates, loading docks, trailer parking, and employee parking lots.

A new 2500 amp, 277/480 volt electric service serves the building. The power distribution system consists of lighting panels, motor control center, mechanical equipment panels, and receptacle panels. Provisions for a portable generator connection as well as a future photovoltaic system were provided.

Lighting consists of energy efficient LED fixtures throughout the facility. Lighting controls were designed to conform to the latest energy conservation code. Exterior lighting consists of wall mounted fixtures, pole lights for parking lot and driveways, monument sign & flag pole floodlights. Exit and egress lighting to meet the building code requirements were also provided. Parsons provided all lighting system design.

Power consists of general use convenience receptacles throughout the facility, HVAC & plumbing equipment power, battery chargers, welding receptacles, portable docks, engine block heaters, and dock equipment.

Low voltage systems included fire alarm.
