Commonwealth Tool and Machine is a supplier of advanced robotic systems and tooling packages that can be fully or semi-automated for virtually any application. Products include robotic weld cells, automotive body jigs, resistance welding equipment, and multi-gun press welders.
The facility consists of a fabrication shop, assembly area, warehouse area as well as a 20,000 sf office. Parsons provided design/build services for the lighting, power, and fire alarm systems, preparing all construction drawings, and providing installation of the electrical systems.
A new 4000 amp, 277/480 volt electric service serves the building. The power distribution system consists of lighting panels, mechanical equipment panels, process equipment panels, and receptacle panels.
Lighting consists of energy efficient LED fixtures throughout the facility. A zoned low voltage lighting control system was provided for the manufacturing and warehouse areas. The entire lighting control system was designed to conform to the latest energy conservation code. Exterior lighting consists of wall mounted fixtures, pole lights for parking lot and driveways, monument sign & flagpole floodlights. Exit and egress lighting to meet the building code requirements were also provided. Parsons provided all lighting system design.
Power consists of general use convenience receptacles throughout the facility, HVAC & plumbing equipment power, and process equipment.
Low voltage systems included fire alarm and access control.
